I made this frame early on and ended up making two others with pictures of Mom and dad as little ones that I displayed at the shower.
First off I made about 100 of those famous Martha Stewart tissue paper Pom Poms. I went with bright colors because that seemed very Seussy to me! Blue, green, pink, yellow, orange, and purple. After many hours of making those my dad was nice enough to hang each one with fishing line from the ceiling. I'm not going to show you how I made these because at this point I think that everyone and their mom knows how to make these but if for some reason you don't here is the link.

I bought these funky feather sticks at Michael's as well as the vases. I filled each vase with green, blue, and pink sand and stuck the feather in. We held the shower at My parent's church because our place just wasn't big enough but I still wanted it to feel homey to we brought in our own couches, coffee tables, chairs, and blankets.
We even displayed the beautiful maternity photos taken by my cousin Kate boasephotography.com. We set out candy dishes with brightly colored candies and displayed all of our old Dr. Seuss books on the coffee table.
One of my favorite parts of the shower was the photos that each guest had take by Kate. As guests came in they stopped and got their picture taken and filled out an advice card for Maegan. I later put all the pictures with the cards into a photo album for Maegan.
My Beautiful sister Maegan, the mother to be
Thing 1 (my mom) and Thing 2 (Me) and Clarabelle my pup. Yes I even died my dog's hair purple for the special occasion.
Kate (the photographer) and my baby cousin Summer
My aunt and cousins
Some guests were not too excited about getting their pictures taken but I managed to force every single guest (and there were over 40) behind the camera for a shot!
Next to the photo area was the cat in the hat table with the cat in the hat diaper cake that I made and the advice cards for guests to fill out.
Mom and I found a couple of over sized Dr. Seuss puzzles that we had laid out for the kids to do as well as a little extra decoration.
I bought a few 72" balloons that we had spread out across the room. Originally I planned to use them as tree tops but I couldn't get that to work. They still looked pretty neat.
For the food table a lined each tray with feathers and made stands for the olives out of a plastic bowl and a candle stick. we served Green deviled eggs, fruit, vegetables, olives, crackers and cheese, and red velvet cupcakes with blue frosting.
I made the cupcake stand out of plastic serving dishes from the dollar store, colored pom poms and a couple of dollar store vases.
Where Maegan and I sat to open gifts.
It was a lot of work for a baby shower but so much fun and totally worth it!
